Other Services / Additional Information
Building Custodial and Support Services provides a wide array of additional custodial services. These include:
- Locking / Unlocking:
- While Public Safety coordinates most of the the building and door locking and unlocking, BCSS is responsible for a small number of the university's facilities.
- Due to safety and security concerns, the BCSS staff is not responsible for providing access for individuals into classrooms or offices, If you have an access need, please contact your Building Coordinator.
- Lost Items:
- Lost items discovered by the BCSS are turned over to the WMU Department of Public Safety. If there is a lost item you are trying to locate please contact Public Safety at 269-387-5555.
- Athletic Grounds:
- BCSS employs six Athletic Grounds workers who are responsible for maintaining the university's outdoor athletic fields. This group also plows snow around athletic venues and performs many other tasks, such as setting up and tearing down equipment for gymnastics, basketball, and volleyball, in support of WMU's scholar/athletes.
- Appliance Repair:
- BCSS employs two skilled-trade workers who are responsible for maintaining all departmental equipment.
